Abstract

The equipment measures the angular position and magnitude of the unbalance and rotates the wheel to a position in which balancing can be effected. A d.c. motor is used for both measurement and positioning. A switch is used to disconnect the motor from a supply voltage and energise a brake and to connect the motor to a position control unit when a given reduced speed is reached. The position control unit is controlled both by the unbalance measuring device and as a function of the angular position of the wheel or the speed of the motor. One position measuring device is responsive to deflections 180 deg. position and the other 180 deg. negative to the null position.
