Abstract

The tined roller is fixed to one side arm of a 'U' shaped lever, so that it is free to rotate and the second arm of the lever is pivoted to the shaft of a cultivator share of the machine by means of an intermediate link. The bearing for the U shaped lever is at right angles to the direction of travel of the machine, so the roller can move up and down, and the bearing is mounted on a pivot whose axis crosses the pivot axle of the roller in the middle section. A spring pressing the roller to the soil is fastened to a bracket attached to the upright support of the cultivator share and its other end is fastened to a lever arm on the end of the 'U' shaped lever remote from the roller.
