Abstract

This cable trough is moulded from a mixture of cement, silicious sand of 0.8mm granular size, plastifying agent and water. One form of mould can have a flat bottom with hinged sides. The top of the cable trough can have returned or rebated edges and therefore the internal parts of the mould need to be made from multiple pieces (9, 11, 13, 14). Cut-outs and cable holes can be incorporated into the mould. The moulding can be reinforced by metal rods or glass-fibre etc. This provides a cable trough that is incombustible with good tensile and compression characteristics.
