Abstract

A device for measuring a three dimensional object, e.g. a model, uses a light source (L) supported by a vertical spindle (M), mounted so as to be able to tilt on it, and a light receiving device, (V) e.g. a vidicon to receive and register the beam of light reflected from the object, so that by measuring the angle of radiation and the angle of incidence with reference to the height of these devices the distance and height of the illuminated portion can be calculated, this being processed by a control circuit and calculation system. Models of a large variety of types may be measured.
