Abstract

Rooms of a building are heated with use of a heat pump, taking evaporation heat from the environment, as in 2401556. When the temp. of the environment falls, additional heat is supplied to the evaporator of the heat pump. Preferably, the additional heat is automatically controlled in dependence on the environmental temp. at any given time. An electrical additional heater is used to supply the heat to the evaporator, and lies in the flow of the environmental medium acting on the evaporator; a heat exchanger may be associated with the evaporator and be fed from an additional electrically heated reservoir. The difference between the constant reference temp. of the transport medium and the variable temp. of the heat source is held constant.
