Abstract

A hollow rectangular tube (1) acting as a braket support for shelving has a set of openings (3) down its face providing two types of bracket support, simply by reversing the tube. Each opening is rectangular with a central protuberance (6) on the bottom face and a central cut-out (8) in the top face. With the openings directed in this manner, two openings will support, locate and maintain upright a pair of side by side brackets (12a, 12b) made of sheet material, each bracket receiving the flanged end of a shelf. With the openings reversed, two openings will support a single bracket in the centre of the openings, to support a shelf at a point between its two ends.
