Abstract

The design is intended for fixing linings to metal rings such as clutch discs, particularly for automatic transmissions. The heater ring has a smooth surface and a holding device for the metal clutch plate. On either side of the plate there is a friction lining and a layer of adhesive. Heating is achieved by alternating the current in the single winding of the heater ring. This induces a current in the metal clutch plate for the required time. Simultaneously pressure is applied and this ensures the required compaction and thickness of the finished clutch disc.
