Abstract

The engine (1) is provided with an electronic pick-up (2) which senses engine speed and transmits the information to an electronic circuit (3). The electronic circuit transforms the speed signal into a number of electric pulses which are then fed to the stepping motor (4). The motor actuates the fuel injection system (5) to control the flow of fuel (6) and thus control the engine speed. The motor may operate with or without mechanical speed reducing gear. This system is simpler than those currently in use in that the electric impulses are used directly to control the motor and thus avoid the use of additional electro-mechanical or electro-hydraulic devices.
