Abstract

Wave breaker or smoother, for harbour or drilling rig protection, consists of pref. trapezoidal platforms, spaced one behind the other and together forming a trapezoidal unit whose tapered end faces into the waves. Each platform has parallel beams carrying a bridge with openings. Preferably the beams are hollow, with a square or round section. The appts. may have floodable floats in a catamaran arrangement, and a regulator as a slider or flap with a horizontal plane of opening, movable by the waves and fitted to a baseplate connected by supports to one or more platforms.
