Abstract

Coating appts. for food and pharmaceutical prods. comprises a rotating container with its base fixed to a shaft which is driven by a motor housed in the supporting base. The other side of the container has a large opening for the introduction of the prods. to be treated. The periphery of the container has three regularly-spaced, rectangular or square emptying openings. A spout opposite each opening is extended a certain distance around the container wall in the direction of rotation. The coating liq. is poured on the prods. through the opening and the liq. solidifies during the rotation of the container. The coated prods. are evacuated through the spouts by reversing the direction of rotation. Emptying of the container is automatic and progressive; and their is no risk of altering the quality of the coated pros. The reversal of the drive can be controlled by a programming device.
