Abstract
Panel of reinforced plaster comprises two opposed external surface layers with facing sheets, the layers comprising rehydrated moulding plaster reinforced with the glass fibres distributed in a selective manner in the plaster, and a central core of non reinforced moulding plaster. The outer plaster layers have a greater plaster density than the core layer so that the panel can be flexed. Each layer hs essentially a constant density. The panel is useful in building e.g. for partitions and esp. for lifts in high buildings. It has increased resistance to bending stresses due to wind pressure and will bend rather than cracking as in prior art, while having an excellent resistance to penetration by fire. It does not need cellulosic covering sheets nor does it contain combustible smoke producing elements to help it to bend under stress.
