Abstract

The switchboard to station telephone connecting equipment consists of a concentrator (2) and lines interconnecting the switchboard (3), the station (1) and the public telephone network. The station (1) is connected to the public telephone network by multiplex lines (9) using time-division and pulse code modulation, and is also connected to the concentrator by two multiplex lines (4). The concentrator (2) is connected to the switchboard (3) by two multiplex lines (5, 6) and by a two-wire line (7) to a subscriber equipment (8). There can be four switchboards for each concentrator which has, for example, two multiplex lines with 32 channels each to the station, and the concentrator (2) has 64 subscriber connections with four used by the switchboard.
