Abstract

The barrier is designed so that mechanical or thermal action against it, so as to permit entry through it, will initiate an alarm. The barrier is formed from interconnected tubular elements (2, (3), (4) forming a mesh network having an interior air circulation. The mesh is connected to a compressor maintaining a predetermined pressure inside the mesh. A device sensitive to pressure variation is connected to the network and to an alarm, so that thermal or mechanical action exerted at any point of the mesh provokes a variation in pressure inside the mesh, thus actuating immediately the alarm system. The tubes are welded together and typically have rectangular sections.
