Abstract

The road vehicle checking equipment has a ramp (1) for the vehicle under test. The ramp (1) comprises four wheel positions to take the wheels of the vehicle and each position has a pair of double conical rollers (4, 5) fixed to a base (6) which can rotate and also move laterally and longitudinally. Electric resistance potentiometers are used to detect any rotation, and any lateral or longitudinal displacement. The forward wheel positions (1, 3) are fixed on the ramp while the rear wheel positions are adjustable. A control panel (61) is used to indicate and to compare with reference standards the various geometrical measurements taken by the equipment.
