Abstract

The rooms (A, B, C) protected by the system have natural or forced air circulation, with a manometer in the roof space monitoring the absolute air pressure at a specific point (7), e.g. at the intake of a ventilator (4), or the difference in pressure at two points (7, 8). The manometer controls an electric supply circuit (9) for an alarm siren (10), so as to energise the latter in response to a variation in the monitored pressure caused by a normally closed door or window being opened. The supply circuit (9) may include a delay unit to allow the occupier to deactivate the alarm by operating a hidden switch.
