Abstract

The tent type structure (for use housing circuses etc.) is a closed top hollow cylinder in a shape, comprising a horizontal lattice tied roof ring (1) supported on triangular peripheral struts (4), this frame being covered by roof (9) and wall membranes. The structure is erected using a central inflatable pillar (5) to elevate the roof, the pivotal peripheral struts (4) then being swung into position on a preplaced foundations, the central pillar then being removed. The roof ring (1) is built up from multiple tubular segments and roof ties are in three parallel bands in which they are disposed at 60 deg. w.r.t. one another. The roof cover (9) is an inflatable bi-convex envelope, and wall covers slide as curtains.
