Abstract

In a linear and temperature-independent liquid level measuring, probe particularly for the liquid Na coolant in a nuclear reactor, having a rigid frame round which are wound two insulated and interlaced cables, and a generator for the supply to the first cable of an alternating current of constant amplitude and frequency as well as a meter for measuring the potential difference between the two ends of the second cable, a single resistance (R) is provided between the ends of the second cable, the value of which the frequency for an identical liquid level outside the level senser can be determined, so that no temperature - dependent variations of the measured potential between the ends of the second cable occur. Provides a robust and simple level senser which can be installed in a pre-selected position in nuclear reactor for which the liquid Na level is to be measured, and is easily accessible for repair and testing.
