Abstract

The tube with a sealing cap is for products requiring sterilisation after packing, such as packets of medical sutures. The plastic tube (1) has two annular sealing lips (6, 7) and its rim (50) is splayed out to form a flexible lip. The cap (8) has an internal profile corresponding to that of the end of the tube with curved section surfaces (36), (37) compressed against the lips (6, 7). When the cap is fitted onto the tube, the contents are sterilised through openings (19). To seal completely, pressure is applied to the cap, forcing the sealing lips into place and the flexible lip over a rim (57) inside the plug (11), applying tension and sealing the assembly.
