Abstract

The sachets (1) are carried on a transporter (10) by clamps (11, 12) holding the side joints (4). The clamps are moved towards each other, so separating the sides (2, 3). A pair of suction devices (13) one on either side, attach themselves to the sides to pull them apart, and a second pair (14) do the same close to the bottom of the sachet. A jet of air entering at the top helps to spread the bottom. The lower suction devices operate after the upper pair. The suction devices are mounted on vertical plates which move to and from the sachet sides. The upper devices are rigidly mounted, and the lower pair pass through holes in the plates.
