Abstract

The stopper with cylindrical necks, comprises a cap from which an inner circular portion extends, fitting inside the neck to form a seal. Concentric with this portion is an outer skirt, at a radial distance from it greater than the thickness of the neck wall, preventing escape of any material from the neck under pressure. In the axial direction the skirt is longer than the inner circular portion. The latter can be in the form of a tubular section with an open end, fitting closely inside the neck, or a cylindrical plug, with seals in the form of peripheral lips. The outer skirt can have three or more projections extending inwards, and bearing against the neck so as to centre the stopper.
