Abstract

Piston for an injection moulding machine, esp. for elastomers having a cylindrical jacket contg. a screw consists essentially of a hollow body having a central channel with a diverging profile through which the material is transferred into the dosing chamber, and rearwardly opening onto the centre of a truncated conical seating forming the valve seating for the screw head, and a peripheral annular lip facing frontwards towards the dosing chamber, and in close contact with the internal surface of this chamber so that it forms a scraper. The system enables complete expulsion of material from the dosing chamber into the mould.
