Abstract

Antennae network particularly applicable to satellite communication systems is intended to increase the number of channels available to the system without increasing unduly losses that could be expected in the multiplexing arrangements and hence requirements for amplifier power. The network feeds n radiating or illuminating elements arranged in N groups before the reflecting surface. (eg n = 144, N = 4). Each element is fed from an output power amplifier, these in turn being supplied from power splitters and groups of dephasing circuits. Three junction hybrid mixers are used to assure almost complete independence of the regulation of the four output beams.
