Abstract

There are two prism (P) and (P1) giving total reflection. One is outside the vehicle and the other inside, in front of the driver. Prism (P) receives an image and reflects it to (P1), which in turn reflects it towards the driver. The prisms are fixed in a right angle tube (T) on the vehicle body. In front of prism (P1) is a telescopic instrument to enlarge the image and an eyepiece (L) which is placed behind a transparent screen in the dashboard. The prisms may be replaced by mirrors which are aligned at 45 deg. with the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.
