Abstract

In a device for controlling the drawing of plate glass from a melting bath, in which the spacing of the draw roll pairs arranged along the length of the transport path of the glass, can be increased as a function of irregularities in the thickness of the glass and more especially of projecting inclusions, e.g. of slag, a control signal is introduced into an electrical memory when a signal proportional to the variation in thickness of the glass with time exceeds a predetermined value, and is advanced in this memory in synchronism with the speed of the plate glass, the control signals for the spacing of the draw rolls being retained in the memory.
