Abstract

Filter elements are made of stacked annular discs or centrifugally cast hollow cylinders of foamed plastic materials which are subsequently covered internally and/or externally with an ancillary porous layer to enhance dust retention from air streams passing radially through the element. They are suitable for air filters made of polyester based polyurethane foam for automobile carburettor or ventilation systems, usually but not exclusively with divergent radial air flow through the filter.
