Abstract

An electrostatic gun for powder coating e.g. vehicle panels, with a supply tube for air (17) and another for a mixture of air and powder (8), has a front discharge opening (10) which is funnel shaped and partially blocked by a pointed cap (7) to form an annular spray, and has a set of radial air discharge openings (13) behind this region, to form a swirling jet. These openings can be regulated by rotating the front block portion (12), and another swirling jet is formed by further sloping radial openings (19) which discharge into the annular spray, the second jet system swirling against the direction of the first.
