Abstract

Polyolefin waxes are made by polymg. propylene under low pressure, opt. together >=1 other olfein of formula CH2=CHR' (where R' = H or 2-8C alkyl) in the presence of a catalyst system comprising (a) a Ti cpd. of formula Ti(OR)mX3-m (where R =2-8C alkyl; X = halogen, esp. Cl; and m = 0 - 0.5) which is activated before the polymsn. by treatment with >=1 organomagnesium cpd., and (b) a co-catalyst consisting of >=1 organometallic cpd. of gp. II or III. Prods. are esp. useful as adhesive components.
