Abstract

To regulate the carburettor when the internal combustion engine is idling, an additional volume of pre-heated air is inspired near the float-spindle zone, regulating the richness of the mixture. This air intake can be controlled independently of the screw regulating the mixture quality. This will compensate for the excess of fuel and change the rich mixture into a fairly homo-generous, easier to burn gas, thus decreasing the pollutants in the exhaust without adding mechanical parts. Additional air is admitted through an axial hole in the mixture regulating screw. The flow through the hole may be adjusted by a spring loaded needle threaded into the screw and the entry to the screw is covered by a filter.
