Abstract

Prefabricated wall panel consists of external face (1) which is a thin reinforced concrete slab and an internal panel (2) made of plasterboard or other material suitable for internal walls which are joined by horizontally braced frame (3) whose uprights (4a, 4b) are fabricated from round steel wire whilst the crosspieces (5) are metal slats welded to the uprights. Upright (4a) is embedded in the concrete during fabrication. Third panel (8) is made of insulating material e.g., expanded polystyrene, and is placed against internal panel (2). This panel is pressed against protruding ends of crosspieces (5) so that they pass through it and it is then pushed up to upright (4b) to ensure secure fixing. The finished panel is light to handle and transport and simple to erect. Can be easily joined to a second panel by using an intermediate supporting post.
