Abstract

The flukes of the stockless anchor may be adapted to different shapes and sizes according to the nature and holding properties of the ground. If the holding ground is soft then larger flukes maybe fitted. Alternatively additional surfaces may be attached to the original flukes. Furthermore the maximum angle of tilt of the flukes can be regulated by altering the stop position. In this way maximum holding is always obtainable from one anchor. The flukes are not permitted to dig too deeply into heavy holding ground. The additional surfaces may be bolted welded or similarly attached to the upper outer edges of the flukes.
