Abstract

The battery cases required to be pressure tested are supplied to the testing station by means of a roller conveyor. The battery operates the contact I1 which starts the ram (8) whose function is to locate the battery. Contact I2 operated by the battery starts the pressure testing cycle. Contact I3 controls the positioning ram (10) after the test is complete. Contact I4 operates the ram (11) when the case has failed to pass the test and is to be guided to the rejected stream. The system ensures that the test cycle operates only when a battery is located correctly and will operate for any frequency of supply of battery. The third contact controls a ram (7) which lifts the cases to the measuring area.
