Abstract

The window has improved connections to rear parcel shelf which limit the tilt of this shelf when the window is opened to gain access to the boot. Parcel shelf (1) is normally horizontl but is hinged (2) to back of car and is raised when window (34) is opened to assist loading and unloading. To limit the tilt of the shelf so that there is no necessity to remove its contents, arm (12) pivots upwards around point (14), releasing lever (4) which then rises under action of spring (7), thereby raising the shelf. The arrangement is such that maximum inclination of shelf is 20 deg. The shelf returns to its normal position on closing of the window due to its own height.
