Abstract

For gas propelled vehicles, it is not practical to render completely leak proof the boot to prevent gas reaching the passenger compartment. The patent covers an envelope which encloses the gas cylinder and rigidly secures it. In the event of leakage, the excess pressure between cylinder and envelope is vented to atmosphere. The envelope is of polyethylene or similar rigid material and the lower part is firmly fixed to the floor. A removable gas tight panel is provided at the top, to allow cylinder removal. The cylinder itself is firmly attached inside the envelope, and a pipe connection is available to supply gas to the engine.
