Abstract

Shears, for cutting of electric cables, utilise the pincer principle and have handles constituted entirely of insulating material. Two inter-pivoting arms each comprise a tempered steel half-moon blade with a hollow cylindrical heel, the handles of e.g. glass fibre reinforced nylon being wedged into each socket and pref. locked by radial screws. A central rod of steel extends axially from one blade into one of the handles which have flange guards adjacent to the joint, and have contoured finger grips.
