Abstract

It is customary to use bellows type connections to compensate for relative bogie/body movement. These are subject to undue wear and the body openings weaken construction. The vehicles can, further, only negotiate wide radius curves although sliding faces are sometimes used to help overcome this problem. This patent covers a rotating joint, simple in construction, and retained by a series of magnets. Vertical motion is compensated by the bellows section and the bottom of the bellows (connecting to the motors) is retained by a rotating ring arrangement, which is retained by magnets.
