Abstract

Double glazing frames in low density material but having high rigidity and insulating properties are manufactured from PVC or aluminium U-section with a central third leg which is T-shaped. Ends of the flanges of the T maintain the glass at a constant separation against the outer arms of the U, and the gap inside the frame is filled with silicone during manufacture. Central layer of dry air ensures watertightness and insulation properties whilst U-section ensures rigidity yet maintains low weight. Suitable for domestic or industrial application.
