Abstract

The prepd. pulp is conditioned in several stages by stirring in an alkaline medium, e.g. lime, Ca(OH)2, NaOH, Na2CO3, NH4OH the pulp having a pH of 8-12. The pulp contains a collecting medium e. g. an anionic sulphohydryl collector, and pref. a fuel oil, the pulp is stirred with an energy consumption of specified power per ton treated mineral, sufficient to activate >=1 of the sulphide minerals, e.g. Cu-, Ni-, or a Mo sulphide.
