Abstract

The plants used are those whose root systems contain nodule bacteria esp. are of genus Alnus and are used in combination with >=1 of the following: Mentha aquatica, Iris pseudocarus, Alisma plantago, Juncus effusus, Scirpus lacustris; phragmites communis. The plants are arranged in flat gently sloping beds sepd. by low dams and a number of such cascaded beds may run in parallel from an upper inlet trench to a lower collector trench in which one or both of the first two plants on the list above are allowed to grow. simple cheap and effective way of dealing with even strong germ-polluted water.
