Abstract

Medicaments contg. the known indole deriv. homovincamone of formula (I) or a salt thereof increase blood flow by increasing arterial and venous blood flow and decreasing capillary resistance, reduce cardiac effort, and exert a spasmolytic effect on the smooth musculature. They can be used in the treatment of cardiovascular disorders of all kinds, esp. cerebral blood flow disorders, hypertension and ischaemia of spastic origin, the after-effects of embolism, poor mental performance, and reduced motor coordination of old age.
