Title cpds. of formula (I) (where A = a direct bond, -CH2-, -OCHR3-, -CH(OCH3)-, 5-CH3- 3,4-isoxazylene; R3 = CH3, C2H5 or C6H5 R = opt. substits. CH3 and/or Cl R' = H or OH, R" = H or Cl) are prepd. by treating an alkali salt of a penicillanic acid with a haloformic ester, and treating the resultant mixed anhydride with an alkali salt of an alpha-amino penicillin.
