Abstract

Large-capacity plastics, pref. polyethylene, barrel can be moulded by extrusion-blowing. The top has a plane part connected to a diametral part at a higher level, stopping short of the lateral barrel wall, and with a diametral part at the former one at a level lower than the av. plane of the top. The upper part of the barrel constitutes a large expansion chamber. It has in the joint plane of the mould, and against and extended laterally of the raised part of the top, two symmetrical gripping eyelet rings, whose upper level does not exceed that of the raised top part. The rings ensure precise positioning of the barrel and facilitate handling. Beyond the rings are two filling and emptying orifices, of the same or different dia's, closed by stoppers.
