Abstract
Meat prods. are processed, e.g. cooked by boiling, steaming, or smoking, or salted, cooled etc., in a machine comprising a tank with partly immersed conveyor belt, which entrains the prod. at the surface, draws it under the liq. between perforated guides, and discharges it at the other end again at liq. level. The outer belt face carries transverse perforated plates, which align with chutes at prod. input and output and is driven at a speed regulated to synchronise with rate of prod. feed so as to minimise mechanical stress, and esp. to reduce damage to sausage skins etc. The appts. is compact and handles prods. of various dimensions.
