Abstract

Metal parts are surfaced in a plasma beam by using as the filler a serrated strip of metal coated with the alloy powder or grains. The plasma beam fuses the strip, the grains and the parent metal surface. The metal/powder ratio is governed by width and thickness of the strip and by the width and density of the serrations.
