Abstract

A pref. peristaltic pump has a single rotor over which pass several flexible tubes, of lengths such that diffusion of a sample in a diluent produces output peak concns. in G.P. ratio e.g. 1/2. A programmed controller switches input from diluent to sample, so as to draw a sample vol. much less than that of tubes, and then reverts to diluent; and also switches outputs from tubes to collectors, to dispense equal quantities of diluted samples. The appts. is used for automatic titration of small quantities of antibody serum (labelled with I 131) with blood, output concns. being measured by a Geiger counter.
