Abstract

Agent consists of a mixt. of minerals, the major part of which is soluble in water, at least after roasting which have a molar ratio basic oxides/acid oxides in the mixt. of 1.0-5.0, and have the following compsn. after roasting 15-40% SiO2, 5-15% Al2O3. 3-12% Fe2O3, 15-17% CaO, and 0.1-20% MgO. The agent efficiently forms micro- and macro-flakes to form a sludge which is compact and can be easily dewatered. The sedimentation rate is high, and the pptn. of metals is promoted.
