Abstract

Novel polypropylene resins comprise 5-60 wt. pts. of (co) polypropylene, 40-95 wt.pts. alpha-Al(OH)3 contg. is not >0.2 wt.% of combined sodium as Na2O, opt. with 0.1-5 wt.pts. of a metal salt of an 11-18C aliphatic acid and/or 5-15 wt. pts. of a polymer of m.w. >10,000 selected from atactic polypropylene, chlorintaed polypropylene, chlorosulphonated polyethylene and synthetic rubbers, e.g. styrene-butadiene, ethylene-propyleen-diene etc. The compsn. may be moulded, extruded, calendered, formed into films or composites for industry, automobiles, structural uses etc. Prods. have good flexibility, rigidity, shock-, chemical- and flame-resistance.
