Abstract
Gas laser consisting of an active gas environment, an optically resonant cavity, two electrodes parallel to and spaced on either side from, the axis of the cavity, with means for treating the active medium and for impressing a cyclic motion on it along a circuit traversing the cavity between the electrodes transversely to the axis. Specif. (a) the laser assembly has an enclosure contg the active medium, the cavity, the electrodes and the means for treating and circulating the active medium, the circuit for which surrounds, and is sepd into two parts by the electrodes, (b) the active medium moves in opposite directions relatively to each other in two parts of the circuit, the means for treating the active medium being situated outside the cavity in order to treat at least a part of the medium as it flows in the circuit.
