Abstract

Bicoloured ribbon esp. for packaging is produced by (a) pre-extruding separately two differently coloured films of the same or different plastic materials, (b) combining the two films by superimposition by extrusion while they are still in a soft state, (c) cutting the composite film into the final ribbons with the desired width, and (d) hot drawing the sheets before winding. Ribbon is cheap and easy to produce, strong and flexible and has attractive appearance.
