Abstract

Appts. consists of a cylindrical tank with a conical base; its upper part is closed by a wall with a filling door. The tank if filled with the foodstuff and water and a pump at the base is started. A valve is arranged so that the mixt. is pumped back to the tank, via jets at different levels and of different sizes, in order to obtain a homogeneous mix, even with prods. of very different densities. After a definite mixing time the valve is altered so that a part of the mixt. drawn into the pump is sent through a distribution pipe while the remainder is recycled to the tank for continued mixing. The formation of an air funnel in the liq. mass near the outlet is prevented by a triangular deflector made of metallic rods, situated on a radius of the tank.
