Abstract

Paper base is covered on both sides with an electroconductive layer, and carries on one side a light-sensitive, ZnO-contg. layer. The electroconductive layer is made penetrable to the toner solvent (but not to the solvent used for the formation of the light-sensitive layer) by replacing partly or fully the conventional white pigment or filler by precipitated CaCO3 and/or the conventional water-sol. binder by the latex of a synthetic resin which dissolves or swells in an aromatic hydrocarbon but not in an aliphatic hydrocarbon. The toner solvent penetrates through the electroconductive layer into the base, so that it rapidly disappears from the surface of the paper, and there is no need to apply heat for drying. The latex is e.g. a polyvinyl acetate or styrene-butadiene copolymer latex.
